A postcard from Houghton Hall
After the street photography day in Norwich I drove 40 miles back home and parked up on the car park of The Anvil, a pub in the country for the night and had place and chips and a few pints of Adnams Broadside.
Mrs wall asked me how long I would be at Houghton Hall and I said not long, but I could have stayed weeks. So much to point my camera at…
A shared line? The locals call this Houghton ‘new’ since at some point previously the houses were in a different place. The story goes that they were nearer to the hall but spoiled the view of the church for the owner of the hall There was a telephone number on the phone, so I rang it from my mobile and the public phone rang! I wondered if the thistles were tempted to answer… The area is still a working farm but must make a packet from visitors First view, has anyone ever failed to be impressed? I’d be happy to live in the stables, no horses there though the paying people I looked afterwards, and wished I’d asked him what had caught his attention must bring my daughter to see all this horsey stuff the stables made a great venue for an art show, although I was so excited by the wood I forgot to look at the art calming our own post box darling. I posted something to myself, it has not arrived yet! the driver waited I tiptoed around the otherside to get this shot touching the Henry Moore Henry Moore ‘aliens’. I thought so anyway I don’t think he was the current owner following the crowds Street Photography in the hall Walpole, the first govener. We are about to get Boris! The family snapshots wow remember the lady from yesterday who was made an associate of the RPS? This is Liz associating with her husband and Henry Moore. They know David Jordan. I just want to lay down for a while, too many books to be read Is this ‘Women’ by Henry Moore……will the boss of the RPS Creative Eye group still talk to me after asking such a question? 🙂
